Broadening the horizons
I have been searching for a job for the past number of months and it’s actually been an incredible experience. Looking for a job is a learning opportunity. You learn about yourself; you learn to be honest with yourself; you learn more about the "stuff you're made of". And so far, despite the waiting, it hasn’t gotten the better of me. So far…
I have set about the task of finding a job with great vigor. It is my job in many ways—the days that I’m not a house husband! I bring a number of ideals, wants and criteria to my job search, most of which have been constant throughout. These parameters have come out of some thoughtful discussions and brainstorming on what it is I’d like to do, who I’d like to do it for and with, and what I’m talented at. But for reasons unknown I am coming up empty handed at the end of the day, week or month.
Here’s where you come in
In an effort to take my limitations out of the picture, I thought I’d cast this post out to the world wide webs and see if something new, off the radar or unexpected catches. There are a few things that might be helpful to know:
- I want to work with a great team. I want to lead a few on that team, investing in them and challenging them to their full potential. I would really like to serve under talented leadership, learning and growing to my full potential.
- I want to do great work. My experience is in the creative field, but in business management and strategy development as well. My talents lie in the ability to think and create strategically. I enjoy figuring things out and I enjoy the details.
I’m hoping this post has some reach. I’m hoping to broaden my horizons. Sometimes I think I’m getting in the way of what God has in store for me. I’m open to what comes to your mind. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have a thought. New ideas and new places are welcome. Please feel free to pass this post along as well.
