Happy Christmas Eve! It all comes to this, right? We arrive at the doorstep of Christmas, heavy with anticipation, joy, disappointment, loss, peace, memories and hopes. And we arrive with the promise of a gift. I hope that tomorrow, yours and mine, is covered with snow (real and figuratively).
I will post tomorrow morning with a short post, which could serve as a meditation at the start of Christmas day. But if pulling out a piece of technology will send you down a rabbit trail, just don't. Merry Christmas!
Here are the readings for the twenty-fourth day of Advent:
"Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves."
"For a child has been born—for us! the gift of a son—for us! He’ll take over the running of the world. His names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness. His ruling authority will grow, and there’ll be no limits to the wholeness he brings."
"Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God’s gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master."
Creative Waiting is a design reflection on the season of Advent. It is released daily December 1st through the 25th. For more on the why behind the series, start here. To begin at the beginning, start with Day 1. _All verses are quoted from The Message unless otherwise noted.
